ANNOUNCEMENT

Lifestyle Medicine 2020 will now be delivered as a world-class virtual (fully online) event

Due to the continuing situation with Covid-19, Lifestyle Medicine 2020 will now be delivered as a world-class virtual (fully online) event on the same weekend of 4-6 December 2020, with Dr Michael Mosley headlining as planned.

Once again, we have again taken an early decision so that you can plan accordingly. We feel that the Covid-19 situation is still too uncertain to be holding a gathering of health professionals in December, especially in Melbourne, and that even if all restrictions were to be lifted in Victoria by then, there could still be outbreaks in other states, border closures and travel disruption.

We know that many of you will be relieved to hear this news, and we are excited to now be designing the most interactive and engaging online conference you have ever experienced!

You will be to be able to interact with other delegates, speakers and exhibitors in private, group and video conversations, vote, question and comment in real time, mingle in the exhibitor hall, attend small group workshops, view the scientific posters, and so on, just like an in-person event, only with extra online features.

In short, we are investing in the latest technology to bring you a world class event which will set a new standard for online conference production.

As always, there will be a focus on your wellbeing, with movement, nourishment and restorative sessions throughout the weekend. We are taking this as an opportunity to perfect the blend of personal lifestyle medicine and professional education that our conferences provide.

We will also take advantage of the virtual format to bring you new speakers who would normally be unable to travel to Australia/New Zealand, and of course you will have access to everything through your account on our website later, including all the concurrent sessions, for up to three years afterwards! So you don’t have to worry if your weekend in December fills up with other things.

This of course means there is no need for travel or accommodation, so those of you who have booked a room at the Pullman Albert Park should now contact the hotel to cancel your reservation.

We will also conduct a review of the price you have paid compared to the lower pricing of the virtual event and over the next few weeks will contact you to advise of your credit – which you will be able to receive as a refund or as an account credit to use for future purchases – at your choice.

And for those who are interested in the ASLM Fellowship, we will add the conference content to our Learning Management System after the event so that you can earn up to 120 points (around double the usual points) towards the ASLM Fellowship by completing the optional assessment.

You can still cancel your registration entirely if you like for just the standard $55 admin fee, but we think you will want to join us for a world class celebration of Lifestyle Medicine which will take place 4-6 December as planned, only online, with access to everything for three years.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our team directly either at info@lifestylemedicine.org.au or on 1300 673 643 in Australia or +61 466 884 656 International.

We look forward to seeing you online this December for an inspiring and memorable world-class virtual conference!
