The ANZOS-ASLM-ICCR 2019 Annual Scientific Meeting, held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney 16-18 October 2019, showcased a line-up of national and international experts across obesity and related chronic disease, and brought together hundreds of researchers, academics and health professionals gather to explore topics relating to nutrition, physical activity and cultural aspects of these conditions.
We were very fortunate to be joined by internationally-renowned physician Dr David Katz (USA), and are delighted to now share with you his insightful keynote presentation, ‘The truth about food‘.

Dr David Katz
MD, MPH, FACPM, FACP, FACLM
Dr David Katz is the immediate past President of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. He is a two-time diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and a board-certified specialist in Preventive Medicine/Public Health. He has received two Honorary Doctorates.
Dr Katz has published roughly 200 scientific articles and textbook chapters, and 15 books to date, including multiple editions of leading textbooks in both Preventive Medicine, and nutrition. He is recognised globally for his expertise in nutrition, weight management and the prevention of chronic disease, and has a social media following of well over half a million.
In 2015, Dr. Katz established the True Health Initiative to help convert what we know about lifestyle as medicine into what we do about it, in the service of adding years to lives and life to years around the globe. He was the founding director of Yale University’s Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center.
